ABOUT ABOUT

MAVerick's James Baur spearheaded an initiative of concerts in which we present Chicago composers works.  He has done three of these concerts over the past two years premiering a handful of works and presenting dozens single-handedly.

Expanding the Chicago Composers Series, we present works for clarinet and violin: solos and duets.  In the spirit of performing the works by artists who embrace a spirit of innovations, we want to encourage composers to think "outside the box." In addition, they will reprise their fantastic performance of Tristan Murail's Les Ruines circulaires.

We are proud to have Jennifer Leckie (violin) and Andrea R. DiOrio present the following works:

Greg Bartholomew ~ Rollick & Romp
Pablo Chin ~ Kaval Imaginario
Elliot Cless ~ Prelude
George Flynn ~ Chicago Mood
Malcolm Dedman ~ Monologue
Malcolm Dedman ~ Pas de Deux
Martha Horst ~ Upbeat
Patricia Moreheard ~ Variations based on O Rubor Sanuinis by Hildegard von Bingen
Tristan Murail ~ Les Ruines circulaires
William Jason Raynovich ~ Tautologies
Andrew Tham ~ Three Short Longings
Andersen Viana ~ Cantilena
Andersen Viana ~ Fantasieta

George Flynn will be a guest performer who will accompany Ms. DiOrio on Chicago Mood.

A reception will follow.

Hope to see you there!
